How much does it cost?
Our current Mexico mission trip costs approximately $500 for airfare. Lodging is provided on a donation basis unless otherwise stated. Food for seven days may cost approximately $200–$300, depending on how often and where you choose to eat. Any additional giving toward the ministry is voluntary and greatly appreciated. (Approximate and subject to change).

The Canada evangelism trip generally costs only the price of transportation, as we deploy approximately 30 minutes from the Canadian border. If we take the ministry bus, transportation may be covered or provided on a donation basis. You are also welcome to contribute toward feeding the homeless community. Every donation of $20 or more helps us feed additional people. After ministry, we usually have dinner together, with each person purchasing a meal of their choice for approximately $15–$20. (Approximate and subject to change).

Do I need previous mission experience?
No. Anyone with a teachable spirit, a servant's heart, and a desire to grow in Christ is welcome to apply. We will provide guidance before and throughout the trip.
 

Do I have to go on a mission to be part of the mission?

No. Not everyone is called to go, but everyone can play a part. You can support the mission through prayer, financial giving, donating supplies, volunteering your time, encouraging missionaries, or serving in other practical ways. Every act of faithful support helps advance the Gospel and strengthen the work of the ministry.
 

Are the leaders paid, or does my contribution cover leadership costs?
No. Our leadership team is entirely volunteer and receives no compensation. If we receive donations, every dollar goes directly toward Gospel ministry and mission work—not to the leaders. Mission leaders personally cover their own meals, transportation, lodging, and other ministry expenses out of pocket.

What ministries does this mission focus on?

Our mission focuses on sharing the Gospel through evangelism, discipleship, biblical counseling, church planting, leadership development, and compassionate care. Depending on the location, we serve in rehabilitation centers, prisons, orphanages, villages, remote islands, women's and men's ministries, youth and children's ministries, and provide biblical counseling for those affected by trauma of various kinds, including physical abuse, sexual abuse, addiction, grief, and other life struggles. We also support local pastors, strengthen churches, conduct crusades, provide one-on-one counseling, and meet practical needs through home repairs, cleanup projects, and community outreach.
 

What’s the fuss about people going on mission trips for the wrong reasons?

Our mission’s focus is to avoid mission trips becoming opportunities for tourism, adventure, dating, inexpensive travel, social-media attention, résumé experience, or an escape from personal problems. You will not be satisfied with your efforts on the trip and may be disappointed if your motives are not aligned with God and serving others. Some have said, “Well, you can do both.” In my years of ministry and holding missionaries accountable, I can tell you that a person’s secondary motive can very quickly dominate the primary one.

Who can apply?
Mission trips are generally open to committed Christians who are in good standing with their local church and are willing to follow the expectations and guidelines established by Mission & Discipleship.
 

How old do I need to be?
Age requirements may vary depending on the mission trip. Minors must have written parental consent and may be required to travel with a parent or approved guardian.
 

Where will we stay?

Accommodations vary by location and may include churches, ministry facilities, mission bases, host families, or other simple lodging. Missionaries should be prepared for modest living conditions.
 

How are meals handled during the mission trip?
It depends on the location. Some trips have local cooks, host churches, or families providing meals, while others may involve preparing meals together or purchasing food. We choose the option that best supports the mission while considering cost, sanitation, and available resources. Meal costs, if applicable, will be communicated before the trip.

If we are traveling by vehicle, each participant is responsible for purchasing their own meals unless the team agrees in advance to contribute toward a shared meal fund, which will cover meals for the duration of the trip.
 

What if I have dietary restrictions or medical conditions?

Please inform leadership before the trip so reasonable accommodations can be considered whenever possible.
 

Do I need a passport or visa?

International mission trips require a valid passport. Some countries may also require a visa or additional travel documentation. Participants are responsible for obtaining the required documents unless otherwise stated.
 

What happens if I need to cancel?

Please notify leadership as soon as possible if you are unable to attend so any necessary arrangements can be made.
 

Can I invite a friend?

Yes. Friends are welcome to apply, provided they are willing to participate fully and follow the mission's biblical standards, expectations, and leadership throughout the trip.
 

What if I have never shared the Gospel before?

That is perfectly okay. We will provide instruction, encouragement, and opportunities to learn. No one will be expected to minister alone without guidance.
 

What if I become sick or injured during the trip?

Notify a team leader immediately so appropriate care and any necessary arrangements can be made.
 

Can I choose which ministry I participate in?

Ministry assignments are determined by the needs of the mission, the host ministry, and team leadership. We encourage every missionary to serve with humility and a willing heart wherever there is a need.
 

Can I go on dates or show romantic affection to my bf/gfduring the mission trip?
No. Participants are expected to refrain from dating, kissing, or other romantic affection during the mission trip to maintain their focus on Christ, the mission, and serving others.
 

Can I consume alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, or recreational drugs during the mission trip?
No. The use of alcohol, tobacco, vaping products, recreational drugs, or any intoxicating substances is prohibited during the mission trip.
 

What happens if I violate the Code of Conduct?
Mission & Discipleship reserves the right to address violations as deemed appropriate, including dismissal from the mission trip if necessary.
 

What if I have a conflict with another team member?
Please address concerns in a Christlike manner and involve leadership when needed so conflicts can be resolved biblically, respectfully, and promptly.
 

Can I take photos and videos?
Yes, but always be respectful of people's privacy, local customs, and any guidelines provided by leadership. Permission should be obtained before photographing individuals whenever appropriate. Whenever possible, take photos of nature, landscapes, activities, or other subjects where faces are not visible. Photographs of minors are strictly prohibited under all circumstances. Any misuse of photographs, including taking, sharing, or distributing unauthorized images, may result in immediate termination from the mission. Individuals are solely responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations. The mission assumes no responsibility or liability for any legal claims, damages, or consequences resulting from an individual's failure to follow this policy.

 

What if I don't want to be a preacher or be assigned as a cook?

Our mission values a servant's heart, and we believe that every role is important. While we encourage everyone to be willing to serve wherever there is a need, we also strive to place each team member in a role that aligns with their God-given gifts, skills, and capabilities whenever possible.

Every participant will be expected to contribute and faithfully carry out their assigned responsibilities. At times, serving may require flexibility and helping in areas outside your preferred role. However, our goal is not to place anyone in a position where they are consistently discouraged or miserable. Instead, we want each person to serve in a way that allows them to grow, thrive, and make the greatest impact while supporting the mission as a whole.
 

Additionally, whenever it is feasible, we will make every reasonable effort to lighten or adjust a person's regular responsibilities so they can better serve in areas where they are most effective and fulfilled. We also warmly welcome those who feel called to primarily serve through hospitality, cooking, cleaning, organizing, or other household responsibilities. These roles are not secondary—they are a meaningful expression of service and are essential to the health, unity, and success of the mission. Every act of service, whether public or behind the scenes, contributes to advancing our shared purpose.
